"At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain."
~ Hebrews 12:26-27
emotions=unpredictable.
people=unreliable.
circumstances=ever changing.
this world promises our lives instability, promises to constantly flip us over and shake all of what makes sense into chaos. majority of us will spend life seeking anything and everything that makes us feel secure, using any explanation to give stability to uneven circumstances. the enemy just LOVES to get his hands on any rocky part of our minds- twisting and skewing truth and making us feel vulnerable, insecure. our fleshes' core desire is safety, to be seen and known and loved regardless of imperfection. the way we live, however, shows that the way we feel is anything BUT safe. we live in hiding, only coming out of our caves long enough to tell those around us that we are "doing GREAT!" we might even be able convince ourselves that we're doing just dandy, but the reality remains- we are struggling with feelings of fear and unworthiness. all the dang time.
we become ugly, ugly souls when instability takes root in our being. we grab at straws, even going to the point of hurting the hearts around us to try to find footing in who we are and what we're worth. we puff ourselves up, claiming to have it all together and choosing to rely on ourselves to build a stable foundation to stand on. we want so badly to prove to those doing life around us that we're simply thriving that we grab the hammer away from the perfect Creator and start pounding nails into places of our lives that they simply do not belong. no matter how hard we may try, the truth stands- anything built with human hands is as good as a house built on shifting sand. it will collapse, no matter how pleasing and put together it may look to be from the the outside.
what is the driving desire behind our need for safety? what is it that we are lacking and are trying to find? here's an idea- it's peace. we innately are born into a world that lacks peace. why? because true peace was taken away from the human race when sin was introduced into the world. Genesis tells us that adam and eve were "naked and unashamed"... they had complete and total peace because they were in tune with the heart of the most High. they were secure in the identity given to them- not needing to change for each other because they trusted the Lord wholly, believing the way He'd created them was perfect.
so easily shaken. such fragile self-views. our human hearts are so prone to cling to things that fall away, to empty words spoken over us by those who simply have no say in our true, God-ordained identities. why do we trust in these words spoken over us by the broken human souls around us so much more than we hold fast to the words the sovereign Father above speaks over us? here's the unfiltered truth- we are not firmly rooted and established in our belief of who the Almighty created us to be- it's easier to believe words spoken to us than those written in a book years and years ago. but at the end of the day, only one of those two possible identities will remain with the return of our mighty Savior. this is what will endure- that we are pleasing to Him, made in His image to further bring Him glory. seek to hold on tight to the words your Father speaks over and of you- resist the temptation to tie yourself to human words and flattery, for all that is not of the Lord is soon to pass away. if you will only choose to cling to the peace and safety by faith in the goodness of the Most High, you will forever be secure. though the earth may shake and pass away, your ransomed soul will remain, dancing in joyful praise forever in the presence of the most High!

just a small reminder of the never-ending
faithfulness of the Lord's promises!!!
a little glimpse of heaven<3
